Food trip in riyadh

Food trip in riyadh
Welcome to Eating Out in Riyadh. MyPage to comments and photos have visited the restaurants and cafes that we have been coming to Saudi Arabia dedicated.

You may find that most of these eating spots in and around Riyahd downtown. There are two reasons for this - one, we live near downtown and two, there are few places outside the city center, which cater to different food halls families in shopping malls, and I rarely food halls - Oh, I'm not a snot!

All places in this segment have family sections for obvious reasons - I'm not allowed in the single section.

I attemtped to categorize the restaurants but as Aquarius, side tracking is a huge problem, so please do not shoot me if my class defining abilities are a little off center.

And last, but not least, before planning a gastronmic adventure in Riyadh do not forget to take into account in lettuce times.

So, here is our take on food in Riyadh.

Al Khozarma Hotels

There are a number of options for consuming food and beverages at Al Olaya Khozarma Hotel on St. Until today, I have tried three - the lobby, the caravans and The Garden Restaurant. All have excellent food and service.

Glenn favorite desert - Creme Brulee - comes from the caravan. He likes the fact that they use real vanilla pods and the portion size is huge.

I prefer the Garden Restaurant at Al Khozarma. It is a relaxing outdoor experience - something you do not get often in Riyadh. In summer there is a beautiful mist that keeps the area cool and the green grass under your feet feels just right for everyone, from green countries.

The Garden Restaurant Al Khozarma often relies on a variety of culinary experiences - things like food Aussie month, British and Irish food month (we had to go back twice that month because Glenn has not succeeded in any court for the first time try).

Wear abaya is not necessarily at the garden restaurant either. Definitely a plus in my book.
******
the Outback

The Outback for steak in Localizer Mall wins hands down. We tried Steakhouse and Steaky is, but if you want a great, fat, juicy steak done to perfection - go Outback. It has an Aussie theme, but I'm not sure if it's the Aussie origin. Does not matter they good steak.

While waiting for our delicious piece of beef come to our table, we munched on a blooming onion, only one of the series of main course and fillers on the menu.

The restaurant booths, remininscent western salons, or take a table from one of the large floor to ceiling widows. Look to the Mall There is a great view of guys do not look quite meet girls, a popular topic of conversation here in Saudi.

This is one of the few upstairs restarants we have been to the easy access for the disabled, the elderly, hard Abaya dressed babe wearing or just lazy, both with a staircase and an elevator.
********
terrazzo is

If you want an almost complete meat experience, you have to go to Terrazzo restaurant on the first floor of the Faisaliah Hotel. The waiters walk around with meat on skewers and carve it on the plate. Buffalo, lamb, shrimp, antelope, chicken, turkey, ostrich, gazelle - just to name a few. A salad buffet is also available, but I've found it hard consumed abdomen.

There is also an ice cream cart with a nice selection of ice cream to finish you. Visiting a sweet touch that melts well in the abdomen after the flesh hard
********
Cafe Pascucci

Pascucci on Mussah ibn Nasser is my favorite coffee and tiramisu place. They have a wide variation in coffee and mocha - I have not tried them all. As well as sandwiches, pasta and pizza. It is worthwhile to go with a big appetite - the portions are generous.

What keeps me coming back is they know how to do a good salad - a rarity in Riyadh. Take a torch but his dark like! This place is a family only. The male Pascucci is down the street and around the corner. And if you set Queen Ann style and much comfier seats feel like trying Pascucci on Panaroma Mall.

The Noodle House

Glenn likes Noodle House, Centria Mall corner Ulaya and Tahaliah - his favorite dishes as chicken and prawn laksa and wasabi prawns. Ordering is easy, the only box and give it form. There is plenty of room in the Noodle House with a selection stalls or small, bring a group tables. And you can see outside, a bonus the road when a Western woman annoyed to see just who are within four walls.

The Noodle House does not have a wide selection of desserts, so ...
********

La Vela

.... For coffee and dessert, we are on the mall, take another Italian, La Vela in Centria Mall. At the entrance there is a counter with a selection of sweets that go perfectly with coffee, although sweets are not the only things on the menu.

More in La Vela you find an area for eating, another to relax in comfortable lounge chairs behind romantic string curtains and, my favorite, an outdoor terrace.

Although La Vela is open for dinner from breakfast (10), I prefer for coffee and dessert.
********
Second Cup Coffee

If I only want coffee in rooms that have a lot of natural light (family sections can be very dark) I'm going to go with Second Cup, in the Localiser Mall.

They have produced the plastic tasting cake mass, but the coffee is good and I can at least my book without a flashlight take especially if I get a window seat, which is more than possible if I early in the day, inform.
********

Chinese restaurants

There are a number of places in Riyadh, the Chinese used and they all seem OK. We (the right hand fork at the eastern end of the Mussah ibn Nasser to get there Take) local fast go on Goal Jazeera Palace. If you order Teriaki chicken or fish to get the Yummi Yummi experience.
One of the waiters at the gate of Jazeera
My boyfriend loves K Riyadh Chinese (depend left at the end of Mussah ibn Nasser, a right and the next fork and then another right at the lights of McDonalds).

Diamond in the Localizer is OK too - they have a few restaurants in the city.

Chinese Golden Palace Restaurant

Near the corner Ulaya and Mussah ibn Nasser, this place has created an internal Chinese water setting. What's groovy here are the ice - one night we tried them all. Gluttons, I know.

********
Tokyo Restaurant

For Japanese, try Tokyo on Uruba near King Abdul Aziz. They cook the 'how you see (say tongues that the neighbors complained about odors emanating from the site in the early hours of the morning when trying to sleep) "Deal not to do, but the food is still nice. they are obviously in the process of looking for a friendly neighborhood.

The mirrors on the ceiling is an interesting concept in fairly large cabins, ideal for groups, if not have so intimate for couples, the exteriors painted on the walls.

********
Amore Italian Cuisine

Amores on Tahaliah is my favorite Italian restaurant. The pasta is made fresh and one of the few places I found in Riyadh who really knows how to make salad.
There is not much room up, so go outside normal hours Riyadh eat (ie, end) and the deco is variations on black and white, with tulips for contrast. How is the Italian ?? Anyway, the food never lets me and the service is excellent.

********
Pizza Roma
Pizza Roma, another Italian, is tucked away just off Tahaliah. The easiest way is, of Mussah ibn Nasser, turn right at the fork and keep an eye out for Cafe Roma, which is a men only club. Pizza Roma is on the other end of the parking lot.

You will have the set with a nice selection of breads and dips to us that they are almost presented as a meal !! The menu includes pizza and fresh pasta and is one of the few places I've found that Antipasto do when you only what some light. Plus the coffee is good.

The decor is a collection of decorative old pieces against wood - simple but nice, initially reminded me of an old Italian wine cellar.

It's a small place, so be careful to two things - first, it pays to book on busy nights. Second, there is not much wall space, so you may find yourself sitting in the middle of the outdoor restaurants - more reminiscent of a busy home makers Italian cuisine to be beneficial for comfort.
********
Anthurium

In the same areas as Café Roma is Anthrium. Expensive and apparently French, which could refer to the style of cooking and serving (you know what I mean, that French flair), but the dishes we had tended to more Asian.

You will be blown away by the brightness down when you enter. We were in an upward direction, which was weakened a touch. If you have children averse you like this place. The sign out front says "allowed No children under 10 years.
********

The Pizza Company

I like pizza - stuffed crust and cheesy, the Pizza Company (the other corner of Ulaya and Mussah ibn Nasser) is a favorite of ours. The pizza is dropped into excess oil and the toppings are plentiful. We have this terrible habit from consuming some chicken wings before pizza.

For those who want to see it there for something healthy, there is a salad bar.
********

Fairouz garden

Fairouz garden at King Fahad Road, directly opposite the Novotel is Lebonese. It is up so you take the lift - the bouncers look very swish. You can eat on the terrace if you want, and the plate full of veges start your meal are delicious fresh and crisp. I found it very nice to sit outside and the stars with a view of Kingdom Tower overhead.
********
squisito

Just around the corner is Squisito which I thoroughly enjoyed. At night we went I had the impression they are trying for a relaxed dining experience.

Glenn thought it was a bit Ekky for what you have, but the shrimp were perfect, it is worth cooked in my book.
********

The croissant Place

For croissants early on a weekend morning after a bike ride we like the croissant place in Sulamaniya. It is one of the few restaurants with a family section, we have found that is open early in the morning.

Glenn loves Turkey Croissant, I prefer the butter. There are other things on the menu, but to be honest, we did not there for anything other than the croissants.

The coffee is always interesting to have a different way of saying the improvement is not beyond the bounds of possibility.
********

Maya

Are you a chocolate freak? There are three places that we know that you can choose from. The local chocolate and coffee shop near Al Jazeera market (hang a right at the fork), the top chocolate at King Fahad in the same block as Fairouz Gardens but you have to get her back walking the family section - not a pleasant experience at night).

The latest popular chocoholic spot is Maya, at the eastern end of the Tahaliah. I prefer this, but that's because I'm not a chocolate freak. I think the most chocolate these days is sickening sweet and mostly loaded with sugar taste. Maya is nice flavored chocolate that is not too rich.

The dining area at night we went with young women packed .. As one of the few men, and the only Westerner was Glenn not hard to miss in the crowd! There are no articles (at least none that we have seen), but screens can be provided.
********

wooden Bakery

Wooden bakery on Khurais road is a nice place for lunch. Below is the store and bakery delicacies and bread and sausage and pizza. Upstairs is a family restaurant. I like the coffee here, unless the cups are too small.
********

breakfast

Breakfast is a small cafe / restaruant about halfway down Tahalia St. We were a day there, oddly enough, breakfast. I had the oriental - pita bread, foul, haloumi, labneh and veges. Very filling.
********

Assayria

Assayria is Glenn's current favorites. It is halfway Talahteen St and I think that is Lebonese. The amount of food you get is humungous - that's why he likes it. It's also nice down and the service is very good.
********

Vapiano is on Tahalia, near Localiser Mall. I quite enjoyed. It has a different concept, where you at various points around the restaurant to order and then they bring you your meal. I quite enjoyed. I like how you can see your food being prepared.

********
Ketchup, another restaurant on the strip by at Mussah ibn Nasser to the right, is red and a little on the expensive side for what you get, but what you get is quite nice.
********
Pardon Cafe

Pardon Cafe is our favorite lunch place. To put it upside down Ulaya of Uruba Street. Turn left Hollandi Bank branch ladies. It is just up the road a bit. It is Asian food, nice atmosphere, bright and airy.
********

Steaky is

I have decided to no negative evidence I have given over Steaky withdraw. The hotel is fine for steak. The last few times we went the steak was cooked beautifully, though not huge - but size is not everything, right?

Glenn has tried the ribs twice - beef of course. Once the bone, once without. It is him two tries decided that ribs, which originally did not go "oink" not simply taken to make the race. This has more to do with his palate as to how the Steaky team cooks ribs.

The branch we are just across the street from the market Jazeera about Mussah ibn Nasser.
